CCU Softball... Beginning of a new year.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to take this time to welcome you all back to another exciting year of CCU Softball! My name is Jason and I am one of the two committee people who take care of this website. The other being Jessica Sue.
The theme for this year like stated in earlier posts is Grace Like Rain and the verse that comes along with it is from the book of Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

That theme itself brings back many memories when I first joined the league in 2001. Back then I can remember how there use to be a Recreational league and a Competitive league and being a newcomer I decided to join the Rec team that played at my church. It was fun playing with people my age, without the pressure of heavy competitive play and not only that but I can also remember seeing only a handful of teams playing in both leagues. It's exciting to see how we fast forward 6 years to see our league expand to 4 different divisions and over 20 teams! It just goes to show you, how much God has stayed with us through the good times and the bad. So dust off those gloves, clean off the dirt on your cleats, get ready those league approved bats, and get ready for an exciting new summer! With new teams, and new rules, this is sure to be the most electric summer in years! I hope to be able to meet you all and get to know the faces of CCU Softball.

I also wanted to take this time to encourage you all to come out to our annual kick-off event like posted on the main CCU Website. It's going to be a fun time of fellowship at El Camino High School at 6:30 pm. Come get to knew others from Basketball and Volleyball as our main value is unity in Christ. To begin our 2nd year combined with the other 2 sports is revolutionary and it's a good way to show our support to the other leagues as well.

So once again, let's have a fun but safe year, and good luck to all the teams out there! Weather you are in the A, BB, B, or C division we are all here to support one another in Christ.
